Internationally, culturally and governments are increasingly recognizing the LGBT community by providing equal rights — such as same-sex marriages and non-discrimination policies. However, many parts of the world continue to uphold outdated, inexcusable beliefs and policies that inhibit LBGT couples from legally starting families in their home countries.

TLC welcomes and embraces LGBTQ community members who are on their journey to build a family.  For 15 years, we have proudly supported and guided all patients on their journey to parenthood — regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.

Options for Lesbian Couples

Questions you must tackle together: Whose Egg? Who will be the Sperm Donor?

Treatments Involved:

• PAR (Partner Assisted Reproduction)
• Donor Sperm

Options for Gay Men

It’s your right to become … Dads.

Questions you must tackle together: Who will be the Egg Donor? Which Dad-to-be will provide the Sperm? Who will carry the baby for this magical journey?

Treatments Involved:

• Semen Analysis
• Surrogacy using Egg Donation
• Genetic Testing using PGS (Preimplantation Genetic Screening)

Options for Transgender

Whether you identify as a male or female, TLC believes parenthood is parenthood.

Questions to Consider: Have you started hormone therapy? Have you considered Egg Freezing?

Treatment Options for F to M Intended Parents:

• Single. Prior to transitioning and testosterone therapy; IUI/Donor Sperm
• Relationship with Trans-Woman. Frozen eggs may potentially be inseminated with your partner’s sperm (if available) or with donor sperm to create embryos, which may be transferred into a gestational surrogate.
• Relationship with Trans-Man. Frozen eggs may be inseminated with donor sperm to create embryos, which may be transferred into a gestational surrogate.
• Relationship with CIS (non-transgender): PAR/Donor Sperm or Gestational Surrogacy

Treatment Options Available for M to F Intended Parents:

Prior to Hormone Therapy. If you are thinking about building a family before undergoing sex-reassignment surgery and/or hormone therapy, sperm preservation is critical to your journey — as hormone therapy may result in  optimal specimen.

After Hormone Therapy:

• Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
• In vitro fertilization (IVF)
